Norman Henry Mamey
This page is a tribute to the memory of GRAMMY award-winning composer, Norman Henry Mamey (1948-2015).
I was first introduced to Norman in 2012, shortly after establishing BachScholar Publishing. At that time I had done some advertising on the BachScholar website for submissions from composers who were seeking to have their music published by BachScholar Publishing. In 2012, I received a message or email (I forget which) from a piano student of Norman's and a follower of my YouTube channel, informing me that Norman wished to have some of his music considered for publication by BachScholar Publishing.
....in progress, to be continued.........
Norman Henry Mamey (1948-2015) was a GRAMMY award-winning concert jazz pianist, conductor, and educator. (We are deeply saddened to here about Norman's passing in January, 2015.) Norman's biography and accolades are so extensive that it is best if you visit his website for his complete biography. We are honored and privileged to have custom and engraved and published Mr. Mamey's A Jazz Pianist's Christmas, which was for the second year in a row BachScholar's #2 top best-selling title! We are currently working on eight more of Norman's jazz piano pieces to be published posthumously. CLICK HERE to browse or purchase Mr. Mamey's compositions. Below is a delightful and masterful improvisation Norman played in his last few weeks of life, which incorporates Claire de Lune, Moon River, and other works!
